Bling It On: Individualising Your Car With Accessories

I'm Rick, and I'm in my early twenties. I have six older brothers, and we are all car crazy! Fortunately, my parents live on a few hectares, so we have somewhere to store the cars we are constantly refurbishing. Whilst some guys like buying really old cars and doing them up, I prefer to buy cars that are in reasonable condition and bling them up with accessories. From floor mats to navigation systems, I always keep my eyes open for anything new and interesting. Many of my friends bring their new cars to me for ideas about how to personalise them. I am usually able to give suggestions and direct them to the best suppliers. I realise that many others out there may be looking for ways to express their individuality through car accessories. I hope you find some inspiration within these pages. Please drive through!

Accessories That Will Make You Never Want To Leave Your Car This Summer

Summer in Australia is the perfect time to go out exploring everything the beautiful country has to offer. From the golden sands on the coast to the rocky terrain of the Great Dividing Range, there is something for everyone, and summer gives you the perfect opportunity to go and see it all. If you are planning on going out a lot, then you will need a vehicle that is fully equipped for your needs, and there are some accessories that you should consider getting before you start your adventures.

Roof Racks

A great addition to any car, roof racks are where you put gear that just does not comfortably fit in your car. From awkwardly shaped camping gear to surf boards that take up too much room, there is no limit to what you can store on your roof racks. There are also different types of roof racks, including ones that have a whole fenced section to place things inside of and others that are simply horizontal rods across the roof of your car you strap things on top of. Don't worry about the weather either, since waterproof bags are an easy thing to store inside your car, just in case it starts to rain. Remember, before you start driving with your gear loaded on top of your car, you should measure how much taller it makes your car so you don't have any nasty accidents with low-clearance tunnels and garages.

Air Freshener

If you do plan on spending a lot of time in your vehicle this summer, then you should really invest in some air-freshening devices. From the classic design that you hang over your rear-view mirror to more sophisticated ones that you attach to your air conditioning, there are air fresheners for every budget. If you struggle with traditional air fresheners because of an allergy, then there are options for you that gear more towards natural and essential oils. The last thing you want is to step into your car after a great day and find that it smells terrible, ruining your journey home and dampening the whole experience.

Reverse Camera

While they now come pre-installed on many new cars, if you have an older model car, getting a reverse camera can drastically reduce the risk of you crashing while parking. While you may not mind a few bumps and bruises on your car, especially if it is a bit older, you should also consider that it will protect any kids that are around if you are trying to reverse. All it takes is a split second to miss a little frame running behind your car, and you could accidentally really injure a child. Getting a reverse camera totally removes that risk while also making your car exceptionally easier to get into those really tight parking spaces.
